Do you understand how thoughts shape our life?
Whether they are positive or negative, thoughts determine the direction a day will go. We have random thought always flickering thru our mind; but which ones do you entertain?
As with anything we generally have people to help us along the way, like this community which is absolutely magnificent to be a part of!
And it got me thinking, we have a lot of people in our lives who have influenced us or been there through ups and downs, your mum, dad, sister, brother, wife, husband, but there is only one person who has lived with you every second of your life, seen everything you have seen and been through everything you have been through, knows exactly what you want to achieve deep down and that is… YOU!!
Thoughts are like the architects of our reality. They shape our experiences, emotions, and actions. Let’s delve into how this fascinating process unfolds:
- Perception and Interpretation:
- Life throws various events our way—some within our control, some influenced by us, and others entirely random.
- We don’t control random events (like earthquakes or pandemics), but we do influence how we perceive and interpret them.
- Our thoughts about these events generate feelings, which in turn influence our behavior.
- The Power of Thoughts:
- Thoughts are the seeds from which beliefs grow. When we repeatedly think a certain way and assign truth to those thoughts, they become beliefs.
- These beliefs act as cognitive lenses, filtering our perception of the world. We seek evidence that aligns with our beliefs.
- For instance, if you believe you’re unattractive after a breakup, you’ll notice comments that confirm this belief, even if others praise your appearance1.
- Creating Your Reality:
- While we can’t control external events, we have full control over our thoughts and actions.
- Imagine a breakup: If your thought is, “I’ll never find love again,” you’ll feel depressed and act accordingly.
- But if your thought is, “Good riddance,” your emotions and actions will differ.

Our path and our success are up to us, no excuses. You have got yourself to this point, it’s up to you what you do next. Remembering, the path to success is always a work in progress. It’s a bumpy, rough road at times, it isn’t made to go smooth.
But keep moving forward, be consistent. The only difference between those who succeed and those who don’t is the one who is successful, shows up every day! They work hard every day! They learn from proven mentors and get better every day! They do what needs to be done every day! And they do it all, even though at one point, they wanted to give up, everyday!
You may or may not share these thoughts and you may or may not have heard something similar in the past. But these are some of the things I have learned on my journey through sports, work, life, and the search to become better than I was yesterday. I think it also very much applies to starting out online and starting here as I have and all of you guys have too. We all have had a first day before. Remember don’t sweat the small stuff you do have control over your thought life.
